Crossing my fingers.

I've had a lot going on recently. A lot of changes...some ups, some downs. So thankful for the people that stood by for support when going through it all. And the ones that didn't...well you learn who really cares when you're at your lowest. 

Even though a lot has happened over the last six months or so, I really am trying to make this year a good one. I have some life changing events coming up this next month, maybe. I'm crossing my fingers God hears my prayers.

On the other blog...

On the my other blog (Thift Style Me) I have my first guest blogger for my "Thifting Coast to Coast" project. It was something I intended to start this past fall, however things happen...speed bumps and what not. Either way, I've started it back up again and am super excited with the written tour of California given by Rhiannon! She did such a great job with it! I'm now getting insanely anxious for all the thrifting, yard sales, and flea markets I have coming up this year!

Today.

Florals

I've been insanely over the snow and cold weather... So have been searching for ways to make each day brighter and happier. 

I put a little plant in my bathroom to see each morning while getting ready...

I've been dressing in bright colors and pretty patterns, rediscovering clothes I had packed away.

I've been playing with pretty colors and paints, something about it is like yoga to me. Gives me time to just be.

The other night when flipping through some recent Free People catalogs I came  across this amazing image! 

I was immediately inspired! Over the past week I've started a "Florals" board on Pinterest...here are some faves. 

It made me want to paint!!! So last night at our girls night craft night I did this. :)

Oh and this...to use up the paint on my palette. Enjoy!

Cleaning Out My Closet

The goal for today is to clean out my closet (again...I do this like once a month), and shift in some fall items. Adding back in some thermals, light weight sweaters, packing away anything a few summer items, etc. With having this entire week off, I've been procrastinating...distracted by Pinterest, wedding planning, etc. However I have to get this done this week! I'm starting a new job at Abercrombie on Monday! So in addition to packing away a few summer things...I'm getting rid of all my black items, and adding in some navy. I don't want to accidentally show up on my first day wearing a black cardigan and get eyeballed.

Not a good way to start a new job! 

With every major closet clean, you can pretty much guarantee there will be some new items listed on my Poshmark closet. Here's what I've added so far...

Hello Again...

It's been a while since I've posted...a close friend of mine told me I needed to start a blog about all the things I'm always working on...All my projects and activities. That's when I stopped - "Wait, I already have a blog!" So here I am attempting to jump back into blogging. I'm horrible with these blog layouts, but changed the title to "Your friend Nicole."

What am I doing lately? A million things like usual...that's just how I do things.

For starts I started a blog site specifically for thrifting...thrifted fashion, home styling, DIY, and to share blogs from other thrifters like myself. You can follow my blog Thrift Style Me online, or on Instagram @ThriftStyleMe.

Secondly I'm working on revamping my etsy page,  currently known as The JN. I'll soon be starting a new shop with a new name...to be announced. Still brainstorming... ;)

I've also started a closet on Poshmark! This app is amazing if you love to shop (very frequently) and are constantly switching out items. I use it to buy, trade, and sell things. For me it's like thrift shopping with a search engine. Oh you like FreePeople, want to keep your limit under $25 an item, and wear a size medium? Hit search and done! It's absolutely amazing, and loads of fun! 

On top of all that...Mark and I are planning our wedding for May 2014... But that'll get a blog post all it's own. :)
